  guess what?

  shunning isnt just a dub problem, it goes on out in the" world "too.

  its used as a weapon to punish and hurt people.

  Well, that's a fine mess you've gotten yourself into, RF.

  This happens all over. I once had a neighbour like that. Told all the neighbours my kids were eating food out of a dumpster, among many other things. Whaaaaaaaaat? She was a sick puppy. It was because she was friends with my neighbour, and so was I. She could not stand that, the jealousy was eating her up. I'm so sorry that kids have to suffer because of parents. There are two families on my street that I have'nt spoken to in 15 yrs. Yes, I have shunned them. I will continue to until they apoligize. Which they won't. They probably don't even remember. But I do............We just agree to avoid each other. The kids are long gone. I feel bad for your son, not having a clue what adults can be like, and using kids as pawns. Good Luck, RF.

  Now you may have an idea of why the last people moved.

  Have you gone over to the saner of the two ladies and had a talk to see what the problem may be? You could let her know how disturbing it is to you that the kids are starting to act out. Who knows what stories are going around over there. Need to nip it in the bud. Let her know how you and your wife and your son enjoyed the friendship of her kids. Think of some really nice things to say about them. Her pride should start showing. The crazy lady is very good at what she does. She has probably done it in the past. The sane lady must have shown some interest in your family. Got the crazy lady jealous. Crazy lady didn't want to lose a "friend". If you don't know what caused the split and defend it and stop it then you are in for years of pain from one jealous crazy lady.

  How to help a friend?

  well after over 100 posts this is my first thread.

  but i thought that this subject was important enough to start a topic and i hope some of you will be able to give me some good advice.. to set the scene: a very close friend of mine is a nurse training to be an anaesthetist.

  he recently had a jw call on him and he'd invited him in and they'd discussed the blood issue.

  Good luck City,

  If he starts getting toooooooooooo interested point him in the direction of this site or another like it so he can see how the ones that got out feel. You just stumbled upon them, quite by accident don't ya know. He doesn't have to know you frequent here. You know, you just want him to see all sides before he makes the final decision, because you are his friend and you are afeared for his life and happiness, you want him to go into it with his eyes wide open. But...............you don't have to worry, he's just looking, trust your gut.

  In my opinion, I would sit and watch. Maybe question a little about where he's coming from. He might just be curious. "If" he ends up going to a meeting, see what he thought of it. Depending on what he says you can let him know how nice they can be in the beginning. What ever he does counter it. I wouldn't bombard him, yet. That would be overreacting. If he is searious about really checking it out, he will probably ask you what you think. He may just be being nice to this guy. If you play it by ear and proceed only as needed you should be able to stay out of any line of fire. There is no statute of limitations on aposticy. Think of it as a very young kid asking sex questions. Just answer the questions asked and don't give him the whole book on the birds and the bees. But watch very closely.

  How Much is Shunning Worth?

  my jw niece called me last night on the phone.

  she is having a pampered chef party (for those of you who don't know what these are, it's like a tupperware party except they cook a meal and sell the cooking stuff).

  it is going to be at my jw sister's house and all the dubs will be there....including my "best" friend who ratted me out to my sister regarding us celebrating christmas last year.. i am not invited....but my niece would like me to buy some stuff and to make up for shunning me she is offering to give me her hostess discount....woohoo huh?.

  It boggles the mind that she would not see any shame in what she has just done. Ya know I think you should find out what time the party is and take your money in person. You're good enough to sell to but not good enough to associate with? Oh wait a minute, they do that every week in service. I forgot who I was talking about. What a joke. She must have felt some guilt to offer her hostess discount. No amount of discount is worth it...................

  i've just been offered a local government job that will increase my salary greatly.

  Man, I've been Crook!

  (that's sick, in australian slang) .

  on the night of the second i decided to go to bed without the heater for the first time (it's the tail end of winter here).

  at midnight i woke up, shivering of extreme cold, even though i had a reasonable pile of blankets on.
